St Patrick’s Day Festival
The London St Patrick’s Day Festival attracts more than 125,000 people to events across London and to the festival in Trafalgar Square. It’s become a destination event showcasing the best of Irish food, music, song, dance, culture and arts. One of the most popular elements of the festivities is the St Patrick’s Day parade, running from Hyde Park Corner through, Piccadilly, Haymarket, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall, starting at midday on Sunday 18 March. Be amazed by flamboyant pageantry, elaborate floats, marching bands, sports clubs and Irish dancing schools. Two Irish icons will lead out this year’s parade – actress Imelda Staunton and broadcaster Gloria Hunniford – celebrating the success and contribution of Irish women.
